Replace heavy tools with lighter alternatives: Does your live chat widget really need 400KB of JavaScript? Services like Crisp or Tawk.to offer similar functionality at a fraction of the weight. Is that social media aggregator widget worth 2 seconds of load time?

Use facade patterns for embeds: Instead of loading full YouTube embeds with 500KB of JavaScript, show a thumbnail with a play button. Only load the actual embed when clicked. This is especially powerful for pages with multiple videos.

Implement tag management carefully: Google Tag Manager is powerful but can be misused. Don’t use it as an excuse to load 30 marketing scripts. Use it to coordinate, test, and manage scripts efficiently.

One insight that resonates with clients: third-party scripts are essentially allowing external code to run on your site without your review. Would you let random contractors modify your store without oversight? Then why allow random scripts to modify your website?
